Sweet White Runners (Heirloom)

The Sweet White Runner Bean has a long, green bean-type pod that holds white-streaked beige, medium-size seeds. Sweet White Runner Beans are just like Scarlet Runner Beans, but they have a white flower and seed. This heirloom bean is slender and long in shape, has a creamy texture and a subtle mild, sweet taste. Considered a gourmet bean, Sweet White Runner Beans are tender, yet meaty and hold their shape well. This climbing plant, one of Britain’s favorite green beans, was brought to the British Isles in the 17th century for decorative use because of its beautiful flowers.
